I've got another idea. How about putting "personal designs" on a sub page of the user that invented them. For example [[User:Heath/Sea Ranch]]. That way we don't get to conflicting designs. On Wikipedia, there is just one page for "Electricity" of which it's more or less clear what the contents should be, and the talk page to get to be that way. With designs though, there are no obvious "correct" contents. This page would contain "Power for 25 people comes down to 25MWh/year; there are 2 main approaches; the first is burning salt as discussed on [[User:Genius/Burning Salt for Electricity]], with the advantage of an abundance of cheap salt. Other approaches are at [[User:EvenMoreGenius/Capturing radio waves to turn into electricity]]. On [[Talk:User:EvenMoreGenius/Capturing radio waves to turn into electricity]] there is room for discussion. [[User:Joep|Joep]] 15:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Cool. That's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for! [[User:Heath|Heath]] 15:41, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

I think the idea is crap... The ZOMG9000 won't work with that system. Heath 11:01, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

I think it's good, but you forgot to figure the Jenkem resistance of the wires. Heath 11:01, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

I also think it's crap! I'm sure glad you didn't muck up the Photovoltaics page with this nonsense Heath 11:04, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

How about making all the systems on board DC whereveer possible and avoiding the inefficiencies in conversion?

The point of this page isn't for actual discussion of PV.. I'm trying to point out how implementation proposals ought to be on their own page so that they have a chance to grow without mucking up the regular pages. Heath 15:06, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

... aaaand I hope I didn't come across inflammatory there.. I expected to be misunderstood on that. ;) Heath 15:12, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi Heath. That's a good point. Be bold and feel free to reorganize whatever you want to :).

I've got another idea. How about putting "personal designs" on a sub page of the user that invented them. For example User:Heath/Sea Ranch. That way we don't get to conflicting designs. On Wikipedia, there is just one page for "Electricity" of which it's more or less clear what the contents should be, and the talk page to get to be that way. With designs though, there are no obvious "correct" contents. This page would contain "Power for 25 people comes down to 25MWh/year; there are 2 main approaches; the first is burning salt as discussed on User:Genius/Burning Salt for Electricity, with the advantage of an abundance of cheap salt. Other approaches are at User:EvenMoreGenius/Capturing radio waves to turn into electricity. On [[Talk:User:EvenMoreGenius/Capturing radio waves to turn into electricity]] there is room for discussion. Joep 15:29, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
