Wavebreak

A wavebreak is a structure designed to prevent the advance of waves and thus protect the area behind it from their influence.

Wavebreaks are common in harbors and marinas to provide a calm water area for the mooring and loading/unloading of vessels, as well as at public beaches to make swimming safer. They are typically constructed from boulders and/or concrete.
