Ecoboot is a concept of a floating city. The idea is from former professor Frits Schoute of Delft University.
Advantages
Advantages of living at sea, according to Schoute:
- Health
- Weather. Ecoboot can move to better weather
- Space. There is enough space on the North Sea
- Selling knowledge
Ideas
Schoute showed two ideas to make Ecoboot technically feasible.
- Damping waves by a system consisting of 3 tubes that can be opened and closed automatically at the top.
- Damping waves using "clickets". They can also store the energy from waves.
