DIY instructions for making your own pint-glass spar platform.

Purpose

  • See that a free-floating spar platform can be stable.
  • You can make waves in the glass and show the wave response.
  • Fun!

Suggested materials

  • Spar: a straw
  • Ballast: some lead shot (or pebbles?). Weight?
  • Platform: a beer coaster.
  • Website selling easy malleable plastics.

Instructions

  • Clip/staple the bottom of the straw closed.
  • Pour in ballast.
  •  ? Good way to connect coaster
  • Add load/decoration to platform (plastic figures?)
