BGAN]
This is one of the most affordable remote internet solutions. For a few hundred dollars in equipment and a reasonable monthly fee, you can get a phone line and slow internet connection anywhere in the satellite coverage area for one terminal, fixed location.
VSAT
VSAT can provide a much faster internet connection, with increasing equipment and service fees.
Large portions of the Pacific are outside of coverage footprint, but most of the Gulf, Caribbean, and North/Central/South America have coverage. You can spend hundreds to thousands on bandwidth, depending on needs and budget. A dozen households sharing a 20 Mbps connection VSAT connection can get a reasonable cost/function trade-off.
