Ecoboot is a concept of a floating city. The idea is from former professor Frits Schoute of Delft University.

Advantages

Advantages of living at sea, according to Schoute:

  • Health
  • Weather. Ecoboot can move to better weather
  • Space. There is enough space on the North Sea
  • Selling knowledge

Ideas

Schoute showed two ideas to make Ecoboot technically feasible.

  • Damping waves by a system consisting of 3 tubes that can be opened and closed automatically at the top.
  • Damping waves using "clickets". They can also store the energy from waves.
